What you will be doing

We are seeking a motivated Caymanian candidate who is eager to pursue a professional accountancy qualification through a structured, full time training contract.

Key Responsibilities: 

As a Trainee Accountant, you will:
  • Assist with company incorporations, including drafting constitutional documentation and completing necessary filings.
  • Work alongside DM’s global teams on IFRS, FRS 102, and US GAAP reporting for clients.
  • Draft board meeting minutes and resolutions.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients, including reviewing due diligence documentation.
  • Maintain and review client AML (Anti-Money Laundering) information.
  • Work within regulatory systems such as CAP, CORIS, and REEFs.
  • Manage corporate records and handle general filing and compliance tasks.
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory authorities, and DM’s international offices.
  • Assist other departments such as liquidation services, audit services and management accounting as needed. Benefit from potential international travel opportunities due to our expanding global client base.
  • Be available to work additional hours depending on workload.
  • As per Firm policy, all employees are expected to work full-time from the office unless granted an exception. We strongly encourage your presence during office hours, as we believe it promotes greater efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration.
  • You are also expected to adhere to the Firm’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

What you will need

  • A Bachelor's degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance or relavent field.
  • Actively pursuing or willing to enrol in a professional accountancy qualification, with an understanding of the requirements and shows long-term commitment.
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently, demonstrating strong self-motivation and initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, with a willingness to learn new systems.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive approach to career development and professional growth, with openness to new experiences, coaching, learning and relationship-building.
  • A strong sense of ethics, honesty, and confidentiality.
  • A coachable attitude and openness to training.
